Access to Justice
Survivors have increased capacity to use their voice, participate in the formal justice processes, and are treated fairly, with respect and dignity. There is a clear path to their safety, their voices are heard, and should they choose, their perpetrators are held accountable under the law.
Court Support Services
A response service based in domestic violence courts focused on increasing survivor agency through access to domestic violence protection orders.
MOSAIC’s court support services seek to address the problem that survivors of GBV/DV/IPV lack the knowledge, mindsets, and ultimately the agency to navigate the complex barriers within the justice system. As a result, they do not always access justice and are not safe.
Our Services Include:
- Containment Counselling: Essential for preparing survivors mentally and emotionally to engage with the court process to apply for a domestic violence protection order.
- Legal Procedure Guidance: Empowering survivors with an understanding of the legal procedures and requirements of the Domestic Violence Protection Order (PO) application process.
- Application Assistance: Helping complete and structure the affidavit that reflects the history and pattern of violence experienced.
- Court Procedure Information: Educating survivors on court procedures and the criminal justice system response to DV.
- Safety Plans: Developing comprehensive safety plans with survivors.
- Referrals: Providing reliable pathways for further counselling and other support services.
Standing up against abuse is not easy.
Domestic and intimate partner violence survivors face multiple and complex barriers to seeking help and accessing justice. Our court support services are tailored to act as an anchor support for survivors, ensuring that after they obtain an interim protection order, they are supported to finalize their protection orders.

The court case monitoring system for IPV survivors aims to provide a comprehensive, secure, and supportive environment to help survivors navigate the legal process and ensure their safety. By integrating technology with legal and support services, the system empowers survivors, providing them with the tools and resources they need to achieve justice and protection.
Thuthuzela Care Centres
A response service based in Thuthuzela Care Centres focused on increasing survivor agency, especially for women, through access to a multi-disciplinary response to instances of sexual and domestic violence.
Thuthuzela Care Centres (TCCs) are multi-stakeholder, twenty-four-hour emergency centres for survivors of domestic and sexual violence managed by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). MOSAIC provides psycho-social trauma containment counselling support as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
