At MOSAIC, we are dedicated to advancing Gender Equality and Safety through prevention-focused interventions and programs.
Our mission is to build awareness, understanding, and skills to dismantle power imbalances that lead to violence and non-responsive systems.
Our approach targets relationships, homes, and communities, addressing the root causes of gender-based violence (GBV).
We empower communities to challenge social norms related to violence against women. Our education and mobilisation efforts ensure communities are equipped with the knowledge and skills to intervene safely and support survivors.
Objectives:
- Raise Awareness: Increase understanding of GBV and its societal impacts.
- Challenge Social Norms: Shift harmful norms that justify violence.
- Equip with Skills: Train communities to support GBV survivors.
- Strengthen Support Systems: Enhance use of local support services.
- Promote Justice: Facilitate access to justice for survivors.

Programme Components:
- Community Education Workshops:
- Definitions, types, causes, and consequences of GBV.
- Legal rights, protections, and survivor support.
- Interactive sessions with role-playing and expert talks.
- Community Mobilisation Campaigns:
- Awareness drives, engagement activities, and establishing a human rights defenders network.
- Skill-Building Workshops:
- Intervention and referral training, and empowerment sessions.
- Support and Referral Services:
- Resource centres, hotline services, and partnerships with local NGOs and service providers.
Our gender-transformative skills training workshops encourage behavior change and understanding of gender dynamics, socialization, violence, and patriarchy. These workshops promote positive communication and address the intergenerational cycle of violence.

10-day workshop empowering women to understand their rights and access services that advance their safety.

GBV First Responders Training
A five-day training for social workers, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community leaders to understand and respond effectively to GBV.
Male Toolkit Behaviour Change Programme
A 12-session behavior change program for men who use violence, aimed at preventing future violence and breaking the cycle of intergenerational violence.
Imbeleko: Healing Generations Project
“Imbeleko” symbolizes the act of giving birth and connecting children to their roots. This project aims to prevent violence among adolescent boys and girls, focusing on their right to live in a safe environment.
Programme Goals:
- Rights Education: Teach gender equality and non-violent choices.
- Therapeutic Services: Provide counselling for adolescents exposed to violence.
- Connecting to Duty Bearers: Strengthen response systems for DV/IPV.
- Training Practitioners: Equip teachers and community workers with gender transformative education skills.
